Function, Structure, And Application
Function: The spline shaft is one of the mechanical transmission methods, that have the same function as the flat key, woodruff key, and taper key.
Structure: There are the longitudinal keyways around the shaft, and the splined hub that assembles on the shaft have also the corresponding keyways to keep a synchronized rotation. And some of the splined hubs were designed to have a longitudinal sliding motion on the shaft, such as the shifting gears of the gearbox.
Application: Used for electric tools, Hammer Drill, Electric Impact Drill, braking device, and the steering mechanism.
