Cast Iron Motor Housing has the advantages of high hardness, high strength, and better deformation resistance. The Cast Iron Motor Housing we made used lost foam casting technology, instead of the typical sand casting. With the application of more mechanized production procedures to our lost foam casting, so the casting defects were decreased significantly to the manual operation of sand casting, and production efficiency is greatly improved. Finally, all these features made the production cost a substantive reduction.
Production Process
The Main production process of lost foam casting and our advantage is as follows:
1) Making foam patterns that have the same structure and dimensions as the final castings.

2) Roast the foam patterns to evaporate moisture completely to enhance the foam patterns' strength and avoid the potential air holes. Roasting time and temperature set as per the patterns structure and wall thickness.
3) Combine the foam patterns with the pouring feeder and pouring channel.
4) Apply the fire-proof coating to make the shells around the foam pattern.
5) Roast the shells to evaporate moisture and enhance the shells’ strength.
6) Bury the shells into the sandboxes. The sand we used is the special ceramsite sand.

7) Pouring in the negative pressure condition. The sandboxes are connected with air compressors, which can make a negative pressure status in the boxes to make the sand tighter.
